Besides Jim, customers have become familiar with a number of employees over the years. Joe McCarthy joined the team in October of 1968, 42 years ago, while still a student at Cathedral High School. “I worked in shipping and receiving when I first came on board,” Joe recalls from behind the counter today, “making deliveries to customers who were primarily commercial photographers and local colleges at the time. We also packaged product for shipment by the post office,” he says.
After college at Mohawk Valley Community College and LeMoyne College Joe returned to help open a new store on Marshsall Street in 1976. In 1984, with an even newer Hawley Avenue store approaching its second anniversary he moved into that location and has been greeting customers daily since.
Jim Dygert has been a portrait and wedding photographer since 1978. A graduate of Henniger High School he recalls that his first camera was a Minolta SRT 101, a gift at graduation. As a hobby Jim shoots grande prix and sport car racing. His background as a professional photographer has proven helpful to customers since he joined the team in 2007.
